Starlink blocks terminals in Uganda after regulator directive ahead of elections

Following Uganda Communications Commission directives, Starlink applied a service restriction in Uganda on 1 January 2026, saying it was unlicensed there. A leaked customs memo had required military clearance for Starlink imports.
