Starlink introduces 1TB 'fair use' cap with throttling for heavy users

Starlink announced a fair-use policy from December 2022 for US and Canadian residential customers: after 1TB of peak-hour usage per month, connections would be deprioritised unless customers bought extra priority data at $0.25/GB. Starlink later dropped the plan in May 2023 and told users their service would stay unlimited.
