The post was later deleted.
Background
The petition, sponsored by NDP MP Charlie Angus and launched 20 February 2025, said Musk had joined a foreign government seeking to erase Canadian sovereignty; it gathered over 280,000 signatures. Musk had also referred to Trudeau as Canada's governor.
Official response
No official government response was reported; the petition was open until 20 June 2025 for presentation to Parliament.
